First gear is very low indeed. I wouldn't normally want to say a word against this variant of the QQ but if other members are getting clutch problems I think that they are reasonable to suggest to dealers that a noticeable pattern is emerging amongst owners and it is the car and not the driver. New Posts. Members Profile. Post Reply. Could this be the Clutch Plate wearing after 17k miles already?
QQ5 YES !! Would the clutch be in warranty or will they advise its wear and tear??? My clutch sometimes judders first thing in the morning when cold. Will mention it to dealer the next time i'm there. When I mentioned it to the workshop manager some time ago, he said that clutches were not covered by the warranty. I assume that this is just another of those "characteristics" of the car! Don't believe it. I had the same problem and after many months of argument with the dealer I involved Nissan UK.
At the time there were no other posts about this on the website so they constantly told me it must be my driving. That's clearly not the case and you need to remind them that this is not the first vehicle to experience it and is doubtless a manufacturing fault. I've been driving for 40 years and never had a clutch replaced and currently do around 25, a year. I've never yet experienced a worn clutch but it sounds pretty unlikely that if you do it's down to clutch wear.
They'll doubtless try to crawl out of replacing under warranty however as I've probably done as high a mileage as most in my vehicle I'm leading the way and you can use my example to back your claim. Vehicle in for 2nd service, I mentioned about the "judder", upon collection they informed me that they couldn,t find an issue with the clutch.
But, they said that they had "reprimed" the clutch What ever that means?? If it was OK, then they would pass this "fix" back into Nissan. Tarbie, a reprime i would imagine is a bleed of the hydraulic system, this seems to sort clutch problems a lot!! Hopefully you have had your clutch sorted now or learned to live with it All manufacturers say that clutches are a very grey area and usually caused by driver error and in probably 90 out of cases is a fact.
"Judder" when moving away
Not warranty, you the customer is liable for any costs, this includes putting the car back together again if you don't agree with the garage's findings or for the work carried out up to that point if your given the vehicle back in bits. Fluffy Alan. Was test driving a 1. It had a very juddery clutch in 1st gear. Is it faulty??
It has a year left to run on the warranty. Is the clutch covered? As far as warranty is concerned, Clutches are a very grey areaSkip to content. Quick links. Juddering resolved? Got a problem, look here to see if its known or let others know of the issue. It has done just over miles, we've been to cornwall from oldham in it for a week and we've noticed a judder in it.
It happens in 5th gear at about rpm at 50mph. We've taken it back to west way nissan in oldham and the service man that rung me basically told me it's me driving and it's too high in the gears for that speed and revs, It tends to happen when you put a light load on the accelerator just to pick up speed. He told me I have to change to 4th gear and pick my speed up that way, however lower down in the revs it pulls fine and doesn't judder.
I got my boyfriend to ring up and they seemed to listen to what he had to say more than me. They have said that they have emailed nissan uk about this problem but has anybody had this problem resolved? Thank you. I can't really give you any help based on my own experience because I very rarely ever use 5th gear. I slip into 6th from 4th when accelerating and again coming back down.
I do wonder if 50mph is a bit slow for 5th - I would usually be well over 50mph in 4th gear. Good luck anyway They think it might be a sticking EGR so they have replaced it and said that should hopefully resolve it if not, to send it back in to investigate more. I'll keep you all updated.
The man that has been overseeing it this time has been very helpful and seems to have been pushing it more for them to start replacing things because last we were told they wont just replace anything.
Fingers crossed it is now sorted. A friend of mine said it's to do with the gearbox matching the engine speed in 5th gear? I either plant my foot down or switch to 4th then back to 5th. It is weird it only haopens in 5th just before the turbo hits full boost.Forums Recent Rules My Activity. Hey there! Welcome to the Digital Spy forums. Sign In Register. Do you think I should get this checked sooner rather than later? What are the chances the car will stall or break down? Abbasolutely 40 Posts: 15, Forum Member. I dont mean to sound facitious but if you know the oil is low why dont you top it up today? Sooner rather than later is always better when it comes to cars. Sounds as if your brake pads have worn down to a dangerous state. Keefy-boy Posts: 11, Forum Member. Presumably you know the oil is low because you have an oil pressure warning light on?
In which case you shouldn't drive the car at all until what is causing that hopefully just an oil top- up is rectified, you run a big risk of wrecking the engine. The juddering may be unconnected. I was going to do the oil, but I've read conflicting accounts of what type of oil I should use.
Castrol, Nissan and other companies recommend different types. The oil warning light only comes on intermittently. It flashes occasionally when braking and then disappears again quickly. Andy2 Posts: 11, Forum Member. Get that oil topped up ASAP. Never drive your car with a low oil level or you'll find yourself stranded miles from home with a seized engine. As for the juddering, it could be anything from a faulty anti-lock system to worn pads, warped discs or broken suspension. Please take better care of your car and get these things sorted, or you'll end up killing someone.
Are you sure the light is the oil pressure warning light and not a brake warning light? Part or fully synthetic? Finglonga Posts: 4, Forum Member. Justabloke Posts: 12, Forum Member. You must be aware of all the feasible reasons behind the problem in accelerating before jumping to the solution. The car jerking problem happens to be an issue common in both manual and automatic cars. What does it mean when your car jerks? Air filters keep the car away from the road pollutants such as dirt, debris and other things that contaminate the engine. Over time, filters are susceptible to accumulating obstructions and build-ups. In addition to pollutants, dirty air filters are also the cause of inefficient fuel combustion.
Therefore, you should wipe those off then check to make sure the symptom will not happen again. For example, Toyota Camry is said that sometimes it jerks when accelerating and the most common reason behind is air filter pollution. Furthermore, some people think that Toyota Camry is a bit sluggish when accelerating from a lower speed, so notice to accelerate from a stand still.
The primary job of fuel pipes is transferring fuel from one section of the engine to another. It is possible that a car jerks when accelerating due to broken fuel pipes. In fact, the situation may even get worse and cause a fire in the car. Usually, it gets difficult for the car to accelerate due to disruption in fuel transfer.
The internal combustion is susceptible to other major issues, once a fuel pipe leaks. To deal with this problem, check for leaks that may be chewed off by rats. Moreover, owners of old cars should pay attention to this issue because they are likely to faulty flue line. The carburetor blends and regulates the right amount of fuel and air as it goes into the engine cylinders for appropriate fuel combustion.
A damaged carburetor is responsible for poor performance of the car as well. Like a dirty air filter, an improper carburetor also causes car jerking as it disturbs the fuel-air mixture balance.Hi, I am on second lease of above car from Wessex in Bristol. When pulling away and accelerating, there is no problem - but when moving slowly and accelerating, the car judders, hesitates and makes low rumbling noises.
Would a change of oil and filters in the gearbox cure this or could it be something more serious? This model of Qashqai has been plagued with gearbox problems over the years and this reads like an issue with the transmission. I would recommend getting the gearbox checked by an independent Nissan specialist. For the full list of reported problems with this model, see: www. Similar questions.
